Chambre fermée
It is a contemporary performance project where theatrical scenography, philosophy and ambient music (hypnagogic music) converge. I wanted to set up a new type of device, a living painting where everything is worked as a combination of the real and the imaginary. This device would be the result o fa series of reflections on the genesis of beliefs in the individuals and language. Given that the foundation of beliefs is (sometimes) external to ourselves, we can question our own freedom.
We would only be machines following the rules of a predetermined algorithm. Nevertheless being free could consist in understanding what we are obeying. For this project I was inspired by the dramaturgy of Angélica Liddell, the installations of Louise Bourgeois, the texts of Francois Recanati (Philosophy of language and spirit) and the tales ofJulio Cortazar.
For this project, I was particularly interested in metal (steel) as a medium for creating accessories and structures used as performative elements. Metal, being a rigid, industrial, mechanical, heavy and cold material, allows me to divert the image of everyday spaces to create "contra-spaces" (Foucault).
